Florida Charter School Conference

Conference Session

Authorizing 101: What Do I Need to Know as an Authorizer Right Now?
Are you new to your role as authorizer? A school district that has never had a charter application, or a particular kind of charter application? Perhaps it has been a long time since you have gone through the renewal, application or contracting process.
This interactive presentation is designed to give authorizers instant tools to create workable processes and timelines specifically designed for districts with limited staff or authorizers who are wearing multiple hats. Handouts will include information in soft and hard copies so that all tools can easily be modified for use in your school district. Authorizers will also have small group time with experienced authorizers to address specific concerns or challenges. Come with questions and leave with specific answers and handouts to address application processes, contracts, monitoring, accountability plans, renewal, termination processes, etc. as well as contacts for authorizers who are willing to help and only a phone call away.
This presentation is an extended session that continues through Breakout Sessions 2 and 3.
